Description
Jerusalem 2000, the City of the Millenium, designed by Orna Willis, dated 2000ANG Cyberworkshop
From the pattern
"...Millenium design...represent the three major religions...Judaism, Christianity, and Islam...symbols of other beliefs and cultures...unity by depicting diversity."
Pattern calls for silk threads, some metallics, and beads..."with a wide variety of stitches and techniques".
There is a lot of discussion of the design process, the reasons for the choice of colors, motifs, and stitches, the history of Jerusalem, poetry, and recipes.
Since this was taught as a cyberworkshop, the pattern has been divided into 9 lessons with 46 more pages of photos, comments from the students, comments from the leader of the workshop, and more.
As always, Orna Willis' directions and diagrams are excellent.
Design includes synagogue, church, mosque, trees, wall, sky, and mountains.
Stitches include Byzantine, crescents, rice, cross, couching, Jessica, Rhodes, and French knots.
Suggested canvas is 18" x 16" 18 count mono canvas.
