Reynolds; the book "Partisan Leader" by Judge Beverly Tucker prophesying the secession movement and set in Patrick County; the War Between the States; Slavery; Henry County, including Martinsville (by Smith); the Henry County Bar; Scenery in Patrick county; Famous court cases; Churches; Patriotic Societies, Business Women's club; Public Schools; Names of soldiers in the Revolution; Ridgeway; Early Days in Winston-Salem; and a section called "Our Faithful Colored People". The book also included a long list of Henry County and Patrick County Grants or Patents with names, dates and locations.

Some of these are brief, but others include family members, affiliations, war records, and business activities, in the course of which they often shed light on area businesses, churches, professions and institutions, and on news events. Patrick Henry, for whom the counties were named, is one of those included.
