I believe this was the very first race here.
Unused ticket
11 pictures of race car wreck. I believe these are of the first race.
29-year-old Bob Slater of Kansas City, Mo. Slater, the 1954 IMCA national champion.
6th lap of the race was killed instantly.
There are pictures of him in the car upside down after the wreck.
I think these black and white photos might be by the same photographer that took the pictures for the Des Moines paper the article was in.

All photos are 8" x 10"
Most are stuck onto the pages of the scrap book. I did not try to pull them off. I did no t want to damage them.
Very interesting piece of racing history.
No idea what it is worth. Make offers. It should probably be in a museum or at least a high end collection.
