Description
ROBERT CARTER of NOMINI HALLA Virginia Planter of the Eighteenth Century
by Louis Morton
"The study was not written as a biography; it is rather a description of the various economic and social aspects of the plantation system as reflected in the career of one planter. Biographical material has been used with this end in view. Throughout, the career of Robert Carter serves as a framework upon which to construct the story of the Virginia aristocracy."--Foreword
This is the 1969 University Press of Virginia printing. This copy was a working research copy used by the late genealogist Ed Boswell, of Farmville, Virginia. There are numerous pencil notations throughout and on the cover and there are some newspaper articles and drawings included. It deserves to be in the library of another serious researcher.
Softcover, 6" x 9", 332 pages, illustrated, indexed.
