An interesting story of this Baptist minister who is buried at Sharon Church, almost touching the building, by his life long friend Jeremiah Jeter. I find the account of the newly freed slaves, with no where to go, wandered the countryside abusing widows and maimed veterans part of the Reconstruction that we never hear about. He was instrumental in the establishment of some black churches in the County. Published by J.T. Ellyson of Richmond, VA in 1875. Very rare. I could not find a first edition online anywhere.
